How Do All-On-X Dental Implants Work?

With All-On-X, a denture is placed, but instead of just sitting on top of the gums, it’s attached directly to the bone with a small number of dental implants (usually about 4 to 6). The advantages are that implant dentures are much more stable than removable ones, and the entire placement process (implants and attaching temporary teeth) can be completed by Dr. Oakey himself.
Am I a Candidate for All-On-X Dental Implants?

Dr. Oakey typically recommends All-On-X for patients who are unsatisfied with their current bridge or denture, want to get dental implants relatively quickly, or have been told they need a bone graft before implants become a viable option. Due to how All-On-X works, many patients who were previously denied dental implants become good candidates.
All-On-X vs. Traditional Dental Implants

What is the difference between an All-On-X denture and a traditional implant denture? Firstly, with All-On-X, the posts themselves are placed in a very specific way. Instead of just being oriented vertically along the entire jawbone, the implants are placed at the very front and very back. This is the naturally thickest point of the jaw, taking advantage of a patient’s current bone density. The ones toward the back are also set at a slight angle to maximize their retention and stability.
