The Wisdom Tooth Process
We keep an eye on the wisdom teeth during routine checkups so we can remove them hopefully before they cause any pain or complications. Most of the time, their extraction involves a minor surgery because they don’t erupt fully, becoming stuck in the bone and gum tissue (impacted).
After the mouth has been numbed, small incisions are made to access the teeth, and they are usually removed in pieces. This reduces the size of the treatment area and is more conservative, leading to a shorter and smoother recovery afterward.
